SalesLane reflects what your sales floor is doing right now. Two layers work together to keep the picture accurate and complete.
Primary flow: live entry by your team
Live entry is the main way deals land in SalesLane. Managers at your dealership (sales managers, F&I managers, GMs) log each deal at the moment of sale, using the web dashboard, the mobile app, or the Chrome side panel. As deals move through the store, statuses advance: from pending, to the finance queue, to the delivery rack, to delivered, to posted.
Everything visible on the leaderboard, the Showroom TV, the digital delivery rack, and the daily KPIs comes from this live activity. No nightly batch. No waiting for someone to upload a file. No lag between the handshake in F&I and the rank change on the showroom wall. If a sales manager logs a deal at 2:47 PM, the salesperson sees her rank update before she walks back to her desk.
This is what SalesLane is. The product is built around the idea that scoreboards only work if they move as fast as the people watching them.
Backstop: DMS reconciliation
On a schedule, SalesLane reconciles against your DMS. Twice a day, Monday through Saturday. The reconciliation layer has two jobs.
First, catch any deal the floor didn't enter. If a wholesale deal slipped through, or a late-night delivery was logged the next morning, the next reconciliation picks it up. Gaps close automatically instead of turning into end-of-month cleanup work.
Second, surface the final financial truth as deals age. Posted grosses replace estimates. Corrections and cancellations land. A deal estimated at $2,400 front gross during the handshake might finalize at $1,985 once the paperwork settles. The reconciliation catches the change, and the audit trail shows what moved.
Why both layers matter
The floor moves faster than any integration. Your DMS is cleaner than anyone's memory. Running both means nothing falls through the cracks, and nothing stays wrong for long.
Your DMS stays the record. SalesLane stays the scoreboard.
If your dealership runs CDK Drive, the reconciliation layer runs through the Fortellis platform. Read CDK Integration via Fortellis.
