SalesLane integrates with CDK Drive through the Fortellis platform. For CDK dealers, this means SalesLane can read deal data directly from your DMS on a schedule, with no manual exports, no CSVs, no cron jobs for your IT team to maintain. The integration is authorized through Fortellis during onboarding and runs in the background from there.
What the integration does
Twice a day, Monday through Saturday, the integration pulls updated deal data from CDK Drive via Fortellis and reconciles it against what your team has entered in SalesLane. The reconciliation layer has two jobs.
First, it catches any deal your floor didn't enter. A wholesale deal that slipped through, a late delivery logged the next morning, a deal a salesperson forgot to bring to the desk. The integration picks it up and SalesLane fills the gap automatically. Your store's stats self-correct.
Second, it surfaces the final financial truth as deals age. When CDK Drive posts a final back gross, the integration pulls it in and updates the SalesLane record. Corrections, cancellations, and financial adjustments all get reflected. An estimated $2,400 front gross from the handshake becomes $1,985 once paperwork settles. The integration reconciles, and the audit trail shows what moved and when.
The reconciliation schedule
The schedule runs without intervention from your team:
- Morning and evening sync, Monday through Saturday.
- No sync between runs. The reconciliation layer is a backstop, not a live feed.
Live entry by your managers remains the primary way deals appear in SalesLane. The integration is there to catch what the floor missed and correct what ages.
One-way data flow, DMS to SalesLane
Data flows one direction only: from CDK Drive into SalesLane. The integration never writes back to CDK Drive. Your DMS remains the system of record, untouched.
Within SalesLane, records may be updated to reflect what CDK Drive reports. That is reconciliation, not bidirectional sync. CDK Drive is always the source of truth; the integration adjusts SalesLane's own records to match.
No customer-level data leaves your dealership. The integration stays within each store's authorized data scope on Fortellis.
Getting it set up
Setup happens during dealership onboarding. SalesLane's team coordinates with your CDK administrator and with Fortellis to authorize the connection. Your day-to-day staff doesn't touch it; once the authorization is in place, the integration runs on schedule.
